Chair of Empirical Microeconomics

Welcome to the homepage of the Chair of Economics, especially Empirical Microeconomics.

Our chair team

Our chair team

Our mission as an economics department is to improve the world today and for future generations through excellent research, education, and social engagement. We aim to understand, communicate, and influence the economic, social, and personal transformation processes in an increasingly complex world. We do this in the fields of sustainability, digitalization, and governance.

The team of the Chair of Empirical Microeconomics implements this in courses, projects, and scientific research. For example...

  • In our Public Economics course, we focus on economic explanations and solutions for the climate crisis.
  • In our research, we explore ways to reduce individual meat consumption, examine the economic consequences of natural disasters, and investigate the coexistence between humans and machines within the research focus of MLU (Society and Culture in Motion).
