Bachelortheses:

Due to structural changes at the Chair of Empirical Microeconomics, the supervision of Bachelor's theses will only be possible until September 2025. This means that all ongoing thesis modules, including grading, must be completed by this deadline.

As a result, the following deadlines apply for starting your Bachelor's thesis at our department:

  • Expression of interest via email to the department: by May 8, 2025
  • Registration with the examination office: by May 15, 2025
  • Latest possible start date:June 5, 2025
  • Latest submission date:July 31, 2025


Please include the following details in your email expressing interest:

  • Your desired start date
  • Your degree program
  • Preferred language of the thesis (English/German)
  • Economic fields and/or specific research questions that interest you


Bachelor’s theses that begin before June 5, 2025, will of course still be supervised. In these cases, the following deadlines apply:

  • Four weeks before the planned start: Expression of interest via email to the department
  • Three weeks before the planned start: Registration with the examination office


Mastertheses:

Possible Master's theses will also be accepted after 05.06.2025.

The following binding deadlines apply for starting your Master's thesis at our Chair:

  • Expression of interest by e-mail to the chair: by 17.07.2025 at the latest
  • Registration at the examination office: by 31.07.2025 at the latest
  • Latest start date: 21.08.2025
  • Latest submission date: 05.02.2026

Please provide the following information in your expression of interest by e-mail:

  • Your desired start date
  • Your degree program
  • The preferred language of the thesis (English/German)
  • Economic disciplines and/or specific issues that interest you


Master's theses whose processing period begins before 21.08.2025 will of course also be supervised. In these cases, the following deadlines apply:

  • Five weeks before the planned start: Expression of interest by e-mail to the chair
  • Three weeks before the planned start: Registration at the examination office
